Three children from Barangay Ol-og and Kawayan in Calubian, Leyte who earlier complained of stomach ache, loose bowel movement (LBM) and vomiting, died of diarrhea. Fifty-four other patients with the same complaints were admitted at the Northwesten Leyte Hospital in Calubian. This was confirmed by Dr. Edgardo Daya, officer-in-charge at the LeyteProvincial Health Office. Dr. Daya further added that most of the victims in the affected towns of Calubian, Leyte, San Isidro and Tabango, were children and women.
