Tacloban City, Leyte – The intensified anti-dengue campaign was deemed very successful as Eastern Visayas posted the biggest decline of dengue cases among the country’s regions in 2011.
The Department of Health Regional Office 8 said that the dengue cases in Eastern Visayas decreased by as much as 93 percent compared to the 2010 dengue incidence. Boyd Cerro, nurse, disclosed that in 2011, the region posted 855 dengue fever cases with eight persons dead from the ailment.
