Bantigue team, sponsored by Manok ni Juan, erased all doubts as they outplayed the bigger Philphos team in a gripping Championship game witnessed by a “Bantigue-dominated” crowd that packed the arena at the Isabel Galicano Ruiz Center on January 11, 2012. Until the final two minutes of the game, neither team led convincingly as the lead swayed back and forth. Leading for Philphos was crafty guard, Ramos, to complement its towering center JanJan Malinao and forward Villaber. On the other hand, Bantigue was powered by players from Western Leyte College varsity team. Bantigue showed toughness and maintained focus under pressure in what would be the antidote to Philphos’ scattered individual plays. Philphos succumbed to Bantigue’s relentless full court press defense in the end game, turning over crucial ball possessions which gave Bantigue uncontested lay-ups to gain….
